I Thought I Had No Room for a Coffee Table in My Tiny Studio — and Then I Found This Foldable Version (Such a Space Saver!)

The more time I’ve spent decorating my small studio apartment, the more I’ve grown to love it. It’s taken a lot of thought and planning, though, for me to reach this point. Even before I moved in, I was drawing layouts and figuring out the best way to arrange my furniture. If I do say so myself, the end result is perfect. Every inch of space is utilized now. The only lingering problem that I still haven’t solved is what to do about my coffee table.
Let me explain: My studio is long, but narrow. In the makeshift living room, my sofa sits flush against one wall, and my desk (and office chair) is against the other. My coffee table rests between them both, which makes the walkway extremely slim. If I have more than one guest over at a time, it becomes an annoying problem. I’ve been looking for a smaller coffee table for months, but I haven’t been able to pin one down that’s narrow enough.
Then, it came to me: I should be looking for a foldable coffee table! From what I can tell, there aren’t many options out there, especially at a decent price and with a good amount of positive reviews. Wayfair’s Millwood Pines Bowan Coffee Table is one of the few exceptions.
What Is the Millwood Pines Bowan Foldable Coffee Table?
Because it arrives fully assembled, you can set up this space-saver in an instant. Measuring 33.5″ x 17.7″ x 15.7″, it has a low profile when both of its legs are unfolded. The height can be adjusted down to 11.6 inches so that it’s closer to the ground, which is ideal if you’re having a get together and your guests are sitting around and eating from the table. The brand calls it a “floor picnic table” — so you can even bring it with you to the park. It only weighs about 9 pounds, after all!
The table’s size also makes a tiny space feel more spacious and open, as does its light bamboo construction. My favorite part, of course, is that you can move it out of the way whenever you need to. When collapsed, it’s only a little over 2 inches tall, so it can slide behind a couch or under a bed. You can even take a page out of a reviewer’s book and hang it on the wall!
What Wayfair Shoppers Are Saying
Average Rating: 4.6/5
“We needed something that could fold up for a multi-use office. This works perfectly. It’s sturdy enough and looks much nicer than a TV tray. I also appreciated that assembly involved sliding it out of a box.” —Sarah
“Simple and beautiful. When not in use, I fold it up and hang it on my wall as a minimalist and functional statement piece.” —Sal
“Simple and sturdy! It is exactly as it looks in the picture and ready to go right out of the box. It can be low or a little higher; both heights [are] solid.” —Susan
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this solution sooner! Once I found this Wayfair option and saw its amazing sale price, I knew I had to get it on your radar, too. Whether you have a narrow apartment like mine or need an extra surface when hosting, this gem is bound to be put to good use.
