I’m super paranoid about odors in my home, which means I’ve collected candles, room sprays, and diffusers galore. But despite my well-stocked, well-scented arsenal, there are still certain unavoidable stinky spots — first and foremost being the area around my trash can. Mine’s fairly compact, so I probably take out the trash more than most people to begin with. However, it sits out in the corner of my kitchen, where there’s still no escaping the occasional leftover food odors… but that’s where Fresh Wave comes in.

I’ve previously raved about the natural brand’s Lavender Odor Eliminating & Deodorizing Packs, which I’ve stored in the bottom of my laundry basket, but now I’m here to gush about a super similar (but totally game-changing) set: the Lavender Odor Eliminating & Deodorizing Packs + Fresh Pod Case. While the former includes just six lavender-scented, air-freshening pouches for $9.99, the latter features all this plus a genius adhesive case for just $2 more.

What’s so special about this case, you may ask? Well, it perfectly fits one of the six Fresh Wave stench-stopping lavender packets, each filled with small beads that use plant oils to fend off bad odors. So, that means that on top of tossing one of these into the bottom of your trash can for good measure, you can also load another into the case and stick it directly to the wall behind the trash for double the freshness.

I’ve had this setup in my kitchen trash corner for months now, and it’s honestly made a noticeable difference in my kitchen overall. The case is also secure enough to stay attached to my wall, even when I’ve had to swap out the odor-eliminating and deodorizing packets. And that is the only caveat here — each one lasts about 30-60 days. Still, not bad for just $11.99 and a better-smelling garbage area!
