When you live in a small space but love entertaining, you’re faced with one major problem: where can all your guests sit? Folding chairs are always a great option, but these new folding floor chairs kick things up a notch because they’re even easier to store and can turn your living room into both a cozy hangout spot and a dining room.

“I love to host, so these chairs hang neatly on the wall and are quite easy to set up when I need some extra seating in the living room,” TikTok user Linh Truong (@linht.roller) said in a recent video, detailing a few favorite home finds from last year. “They also get extra points from providing back support.” Truong even mounted a folded-up pair on the wall beneath a set of windows, and they look just like pieces of decor.

And because these chairs sit flat on the floor, you can use your coffee table as a dining table — another win if you don’t have an eat-in kitchen or extra dining space

These handy fold-out floor chairs are from Prestige Furnishings. They’re called the wooden Zaisu and can be purchased in two different finishes. The design is inspired by traditional Japanese floor chairs that are built so that you can actually put weight on the backrest without fear of the entire chair tipping over.

The Zaisu chairs fold almost completely flat so they can be hung on the wall like Truong showed, tucked away in a closet, or even slid under the coffee table or couch when not in use.

“The wooden Zaisu brings me right back to my time spent living in Japan … and it fits right in amongst my low tatami room table and various Zabuton floor cushions,” one person wrote in their review on the Futonland website. “It provides great support and is super comfortable. I have sat in this chair for hours, and my back feels great the entire time, as does my bottom. Great support … great cushioning.”

They’re priced at $109.99, which is a bit of a splurge for seating, but even just one can be a total hosting game-changer in any small living room — plus they basically double as decor. These foldable floor chairs may just be the secret to successfully entertaining a crowd in a tight space!
