These Colorful Chairs Make This Apartment Patio Garden Feel Absolutely Whimsical
My dream as a Manhattan renter is to one day have an apartment patio garden that’s all mine. I’d fill it with lush greenery, whimsical twinkle lights, and furniture for gathering with family and friends. I can see it all clearly in my mind, mostly because I’d copy Rachel Winard and Stacey Flannery’s outdoor space in Brooklyn.
In the video above, viewers are taken through a few Brooklyn apartments that are bursting with personality and individuality. Rachel and Stacey’s home stood out to me because of the enchanting rooftop garden, especially since the home’s interior is only 500 square feet. Having the outdoor space to host and unwind must feel like an absolute dream. In fact, it’s Rachel’s favorite feature in their home.
“A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into that project, and it’s our little slice of heaven in this crazy city,” Rachel explained at the time of the House Tour. “I’m incredibly proud that Stacey and I did so much of the work ourselves.”
Besides the abundant greenery and panoramic views of New York City, what immediately caught my eye were the green dining chairs, which look earthy and like the perfect perch to enjoy the rooftop deck.
Whimsical Green Chairs Stun in This Apartment Patio Garden
Stacey and Rachel mostly DIY’ed their rooftop garden, and their taste went beyond gorgeous flooring and the gazebo; it included picking out furniture to complement the plants. The green chairs, which Rachel couldn’t find at the time of the House Tour, add a different shade of green that pops among the greenery and natural tones from the planters.
While Rachel couldn’t track down the exact chairs, I found two similar options that are just as bold. For example, Bed Bath & Beyond’s Cornelia dining chair. They’re great for small spaces as they’re stackable and work both indoors and outdoors. (You could even bring them inside during the winter months!) Choose from 10 colors, including the electric green featured in Stacey and Rachel’s home.
If you’re interested in testing out the chair first, you can see if your local The Home Depot has LeisureMod’s Devon Stackable Dining Chair. While also stackable, they’re made from aluminum, so they’re a bit heavier than Bed Bath & Beyond’s plastic alternative. It might mean they’re more durable, though. The floral-shaped back detail hits the garden theme right on the nose.
Even if you don’t have the space for a whole roof deck garden like Rachel and Stacey, these chairs would add florals without even having literal florals on any small balcony, porch, or patio. Consider these chairs a two-in-one find, happy florals, and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the outdoors. To see more of Rachel and Stacey’s apartment, visit the full House Tour.
