Growing up, my family had the most beautiful garden. We had everything from roses and tulips to a lush vegetable patch and multiple fruit trees; to say my family has a green thumb would be an understatement. However, as much as it pains me to admit this, I did not inherit said green thumb (R.I.P. to my fiddle leaf fig tree — Keanu Leaves, I still miss you). That being said, a space doesn’t feel complete to me without a little greenery. So what’s a black-thumbed girl to do? Well, there are a couple of ways I’ve gone about this over the years — namely with the help of faux plants and touches of green throughout my home — but recently, I came across what might just be the greatest intersection of plants and decor: Green Philosophy Co.’s Plant Throw Pillows.

One look at this collection, and it’s easy to see why I was immediately smitten. Available in six plant varieties (Succulent, Anthurium Clarinervium, Frydek Alocasia, Monstera, Philodendron Gloriosum, and Philodendron Melanochrysum), Green Philosophy Co.’s pillows are a unique way to add a pop of color to your space while also showing off your love of plants. The perfect decorative accent, they’re also incredibly soft thanks to their velvety microplush covering, which makes them the perfect partner for a cuddle sesh. The second I saw the olive green succulent pillow, I knew I had to have it.

As soon as my package arrived, I ran to the door with the same anticipation as a kid on Christmas morning (I write for Apartment Therapy, of course I react this way over a throw pillow). Each pillow comes shrink-wrapped to help it properly retain its shape, so after cutting open the packaging and giving the pillow a second to come to life, I placed it on my sofa, took a step back, and squealed with joy (yes, I actually squealed). Dear reader, there’s no better way to say this: These pillows are adorable. So adorable, I giddily FaceTimed anyone who would pick up to show them how cute they are and was met with responses like, “Okay, now I need one” and “Send me the link — NOW.” That being said, these pillows also make a great gift, and I’m personally planning on gifting a pair as a housewarming present to a friend who just bought a new place.

Starting at $39 (the succulent costs $45), these pillows are joy in pillow form. The best part? Green Philosophy Co. works with Trees for the Future, a nonprofit organization aiming to put an end to hunger and poverty by helping farmers across the world regenerate their land. Every purchase equals another tree put into the ground — what’s not to love? I’m happy to say that with these pillows, I’m finally able to be the joyful plant mama I’ve always wanted to be, no water required.
