Hannah’s Bright & Beautiful Apartment (With a Show-Stealing Dog)

Two years ago my husband and I and our winsome Goldendoodle, Hadley moved out of a typical, dark, old Chicago three-flat apartment and into this beautiful, new construction condo near the hip neighborhood of Logan Square. My husband, Josh is in medical school and I work from home as a Creative Director so it was very important to us to have a bright, sunny, and inspiring space to spend our days studying and working!

Our favorite room is the living room with a huge picture window that let’s light in throughout the day. The space is filled with Paris flea market finds, Chicago neighborhood posters, a mid-century record player and, of course, a Modernica planter. Hadley loves to spend her days laying on the bed in the master bedroom in the perfect spot where the sun hits. We love the contrast of the old with the new – Moroccan throw pillows from Maven Collection, vintage oil paintings, art from Zambia, 1950s accordion light, and our favorite centerpiece is our headboard which Josh’s dad out of old barn wood – the floating white nightstands bring in the perfect modern touch.

We have loved making this blank canvas our own, and filling it with memories of adventures to Africa and Iceland. We are in the adoption process are thrilled to start decorating our second bedroom to be a welcoming and warm environment for a little one that will hopefully be joining us soon!
