Cups next to a bottle of wine on a dining table

Earlier this summer, I decided to do a glassware audit in my kitchen. I love and will never part with certain wine glasses and coupes, but I decided that my everyday water glasses needed an upgrade. My old ones had simply seen better days.

When deciding, I knew I wanted water glasses that would serve the following three functions: hold at least 12 ounces of liquid, be perfect for both water and iced coffee/smoothies, and look good on a more formal tablescape.

When it came to budget, I didn’t want to spend too much on whatever I’d be buying, as glasses are prone to breaking. And even though I live alone, I wanted a complete set of four to six glasses that I could bust out while entertaining.

Although I typically love thrifting for glassware, I decided to turn to Amazon to ensure I could get a full set of one design. Plus, I could easily return them if they didn’t suit the rest of my kitchen decor. In my browsing, I came across a beautiful (and affordable!) set of six highball glasses with hobnail detailing and knew I found the winner. At $27.98 for a set of six, these glasses are budget-friendly and chic, and checked all of the boxes on my aforementioned list.

Soon after making my purchase, I hosted a few friends for dinner and got tons of compliments on the design of my new set. I’ve even spotted glasses like these at restaurants and bars — they’re literally popping up everywhere. The glasses are comfortable to hold, easy to wash (they’re thicker, so I never worry about them breaking in the sink), and don’t take up much space in my cabinet. I also like that their design has a vintage edge and therefore pairs nicely with a lot of my other serving pieces.

If your everyday drinking glasses are begging for a refresh, I definitely suggest following suit and grabbing these beauties. I’m all about elevating everyday moments — and purchasing kitchen essentials that make you happy is an easy way to do just that.
