Green thumb extraordinaire — and Apartment Therapy’s resident Plant TherapistHilton Carter has teamed up with Target on yet another exclusive collection of planters, plant stands, and faux greenery. Much of the nearly 30-item-strong Hilton Carter for Target assortment can be used both indoors and outside, so no matter your plant parent preferences, you can level up your growing situation this spring.

With materials ranging from terra-cotta and ceramic to concrete and composite, the planters might be the biggest standout. The clean-lined designs skew modern, much like the furnishings in Carter’s own Baltimore home. Sized to fit standard nursery pots, these pieces are meant to make plant transfer super-easy, especially for urban dwellers who may not have the space for getting messy with potting soil. While the planters are stylish-looking, they’re constructed to support your plant babies’ actual growth, too. For example, some of the footed planters have built-in base trays that allow for proper airflow through the soil, while others have reservoirs for easy watering.

“As a plant stylist, my desire is for everyone to see plants as living art, so it’s important that the vessels that they are plotted in are designed not only for style but are also thoughtful in how the plant lives on and thrives,” Carter said in a press sheet detailing the launch.

Faux plants make up the other major category of the collection. You’ll find popular (and fairly convincing) species, like the Bird of Paradise and a hanging fern, which are two of Carter’s top picks from the offerings. If you’ve struggled to care for any of these varieties before, now you have an option for a do-over that’s meant to last forever.
