HomeGoods Is Selling These Gorgeous Scalloped Hampers for Only $40
Romanticizing laundry day is no easy task, but a TikToker appears to have hacked the secret after stumbling upon a gorgeous scalloped hamper that somehow also doubles as Hamptons house-coded decor. HomeGoods is a treasure trove for scalloped wicker storage pieces that are a fraction of the price of competitors’ options — and this Coastal Grandma-inspired scalloped laundry basket is no exception.
In a TikTok video shared by @Hannah_Sunday, she revealed she’d discovered the “perfect hamper” while browsing HomeGoods: A dreamy woven laundry basket with a scalloped rim and lid that feels straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie.
The lifestyle creator showed off the laundry hamper’s spacious size (it’s only a few inches shorter than her platform bed), stunning rattan weave with a warm golden colorway, handles, and the scalloped lid that she removed to show off a simple yet aesthetically pleasing floral design underneath. And some emails to HomeGoods PR revealed that the hamper is only $39.99, which is a complete steal compared to how expensive some hampers can be.
“It’s stinking ADORABLE,” one person commented, while numerous others wrote versions of, “I NEED THIS.” The TikToker chimed in that she “actually gasped” when she saw it, and her mom also helped convince her to jump on the purchase. “Omg it was the only one in our HomeGoods and my mom was like, ‘You’ll never see it again if you need it,’” she told one commenter who said she’d also found one of the laundry hampers in her HomeGoods’ scalloped goods section.
Unfortunately, you can’t shop HomeGoods products online, and based on @Hannah_Sunday’s experience, you might have a hard time finding this rare scalloped gem in stores. So, if you see one, you might want to take the TikToker’s mom’s advice and grab it.
However, if you love this shape and the scalloped detailing, West Elm is selling a set of two light-colored woven scalloped hampers for $149 that feature a similar shape and also come with lids. While that’s a bit more expensive than the $40 option, you are getting two in a set!
They’re a different color and might be a little smaller than the HomeGoods one (they’re sold under the kids’ storage bins and baskets section), and measure 18 inches in height and 13 inches in diameter for the largest one. However, the pop of white woven rattan is super cute on the scalloped edges, and you might actually prefer having two separate hampers if you wash your dark and light clothes separately.
