House of Cards Fans, You Can Buy Frank Underwood’s House at Auction
We interrupt your binge of House of Cards season 5 with this important announcement. The house that served as the Underwoods’ home pre-White House is hitting the auction block, and it can be yours.
The brick Victorian townhouse is actually located in Baltimore’s Bolton Hill neighborhood, not Washington D.C. The exterior served as the home of Francis and Claire Underwood while Frank was still in the Senate. While the interior shots were filmed elsewhere (sorry, Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright were not here), the set’s floor plan was inspired by the real deal, so the flow should feel familiar to fans of the Netflix series.
The 4,600 square foot four bedroom, two and a half bedroom property has been updated and the original details restored. The place has 12 foot ceilings, six fireplaces, and original hardware—even the entryway mirror is original, dating back to 1877. The three story tall light well brightens up the interior from a top floor skylight.
The property also has a butler’s pantry, brick paved patio with a hardline gas grill, and a detached two car garage with a roof deck. The property was converted from three apartments to a single family by the current owners, who turned the entire top floor into a master suite with a private office, a large dressing room, a laundry closet, and a spa bath with a large jetted tub and walk-in shower.
The auction, hosted by Alex Cooper Inc, is on July 27 , with opening bids starting at $500,000.
