Kelly is an artist, ceramicist and designer living in the Hollywood Hills end of Los Feliz. While she remodels the main house, Kelly has been living in the property’s guest cabin. What I loved most about this guest house is how it encompasses the quintessential Los Angeles vibe: bohemian, warm, welcoming and completely drenched in natural light.

The most essential part of designing a home in Kelly’s opinion is the indoor and outdoor flow of the space. I completely agree, as she is surrounded by tons of trees and an impeccable view of LA. “The climate of LA has changed how I look at spaces—especially my awareness of light and how I work with and incorporate outdoor living areas with indoor.”

Though this home offers plenty of outdoor bliss, inside there are some obvious treasures, like all the amazing windows and the fireplace/hearth. Though she added an AC and ripped up the flooring during renovations, there is plenty of original charm and great bones to this layout. It’s essentially an open floor plan, except the quaint bedroom and bath, which hide off to the side.

With its vaulted ceilings and serene atmosphere, I’m sure she’ll make the best use of this guest house as she finishes the extensive custom renovation to the main house.
