Name: Jesse, Jason and their dog Honey
Location: Nashville, Tennessee
Size: 3200 square feet
Years lived in: Almost 1.5 years, owned
Jesse and Jason purchased their 1929 Tudor style Nashville home a year and half ago. Jesse is a songwriter who has lived in the Music City for about 15 years and her husband Jason is a more recent transplant from Michigan. They both love Tennessee and were excited to buy their first house together here. The couple has since filled the home with eccentric antique finds and rustic contemporary pieces. They have also embarked on renovating parts of the house, such as the back garage, though they are keen on keeping the traditional features intact. In the short span that Jesse and Jason have lived in their new house, they have created a space that is bright, colorful and full of rare treasures.
Jesse’s style seamlessly blends with parts of the home that were already in place, such as the farmhouse-style kitchen, the embellished doorways and windows, the arched thresholds and the romantic lighting fixtures. Her statement pieces — like the 1930s carousel horse — work well with the rustic yet modern look of the contemporary items in her home. One of her favorite rooms is the quirky and fun secret guest bedroom, which boasts hand-painted designs, a lovely vaulted ceiling and a tiny closet door. The “Hansel and Gretel” stone fireplace in the living room is another favorite feature…and original to the home. Both of these elements give their house a fairy tale feeling; their home is full of surprises and even a little magic.
