Wire grids are an organizational basic, which can then be outfitted and customized to suit any space in your house. They are one of the most versatile tools around, and also happen to be pretty affordable. Here are a handful of ways to hang and use them all over the place.

1. Mount Inside Cabinet Doors

There’s a swathe of space inside your kitchen cabinets (or bathroom vanity for that matter) that you’re overlooking, which can be used to store any number of things. Mount a grid inside the door, then add baskets and hooks for all your cleaning supplies or accessories. Above, vertically hung rags, sponges, and rubber gloves frees up loads of surface space underneath the sink.

2. Hang in Your Entryway

Your entryway is the gatekeeper to the rest of your home, fighting against all the myriad stuff you bring in: a constant influx of mail, dog leashes, and keys, to name just a few. Hang a wire grid just inside your door (especially if you don’t have a full-blown foyer) and help this hardworking space do its job. This new catchall zone will corral all the bits and pieces and keep them in place and in reach when you head out the door.

3. Suspend From the Ceiling

Grids aren’t just for walls either. Hang one from the ceiling next to your sunny window, and use it to house your herbs and plants—no footprint required. Or, upgrade from an inexpensive wire version and buy a beefier one to store your pots and pans. Since the grid also acts as a shelf, these are great space savers, especially in small kitchens.

4. Lean Multiples Against The Wall

Batch a couple of these together on your desk or console table and create an instant display for photographs, reminders. It’s a prettier, more modern bulletin board that blends in seamlessly with the rest of your stylish decor, and takes seconds to set up. If it’s in your home office or work area, amp up the function with shelves and baskets to store supplies.

5. Boost Your Bathroom Storage

When it comes to storage, most people will agree that the more you have, the better. In small spaces, especially bathrooms, you’re forced to problem-solve and reconsider all available real estate—including real estate on the wall. It’s the perfect spot to use a wire grid to keep all your beauty supplies, products, and personal accessories together and organized.
