ENHET Laundry bin with casters in someone's home

I take a lot of pride in decorating my bedroom — finding the right furniture, curating my bedscape, and picking out wall art — but my laundry hamper was actively undoing all my hard work. I don’t have the space to stash it in my closet, so it stays out in the open like the ultimate eyesore. It felt like my only options were plain plastic, wicker, and temporary-looking mesh hampers. Until I spotted the ENHET Laundry Bin during a trip to IKEA

It’s by far the sleekest laundry hamper I’ve come across, so I immediately brought it home to see if it could work with my design aesthetic. It ended up making my bedroom’s biggest problem area more polished than ever. Here’s how.

What Is the ENHET Laundry Bin?

The ENHET laundry bin is a sleek and stylish laundry bag suspended on an acrylic-coated steel frame. Boasting a 21-gallon volume that can hold up to 22 lbs of laundry (!!), it packs an impressively high capacity into small-space-friendly dimensions (it measures just 11 inches wide, 21 inches deep, and 31 inches tall). It’s also set on rolling casters, so you can effortlessly wheel it out of narrow spaces on laundry day.

Made of a linen-like polyester fabric, the laundry bag features a sewn-in divider to simplify sorting and a fabric lid that keeps dirty clothes out of sight. The bag attaches to the frame with Velcro, so it can be removed for a quick wash. While the bag is only available in a neutral beige, you can choose between white or black frames. I chose white so it would seamlessly blend into my apartment’s off-white walls.

Why I’m Into It

It looks more like an intentional accent than a design faux pas. The fabric bag is a near-perfect match for my room’s light beige walls, and combined with the bright white frame, it makes what was once the ugliest corner of my room look airy and polished. That soft, marled appearance brings subtle texture to my decor without attracting too much attention. Plus, the lid effectively camouflages my mounting pile of laundry, making the room look so much cleaner. It’s stylish and understated — exactly what a hamper should be.

It’s not just an aesthetic fit, either. The ENHET laundry bin is the perfect size for small spaces. It tucks neatly in the narrow corner of my bedroom without any issues, and I’m convinced it could fit almost anywhere. I love that I can roll the bin out for easy access to my clothes on laundry day, and the divider allows me to sort lights and darks through the week (saving me time at the laundromat!).

Why It’s Worth the Splurge

Granted, for $65, the ENHET laundry bin is on the pricier side for an IKEA piece. But it’s actually quite affordable compared to other hampers on the market, which are oddly expensive and can easily run over $100. I truly think it’s worth the spend for the style points alone.
