IKEA’s New Solid Wood Table Is Selling for Under $100 (and Saves So Much Space!)

I’m always on the lookout for affordable solid wood furniture and decor — especially those geared towards small-space living. Solid wood pieces aren’t as ubiquitous as they once were, and antiques can be large, heavy, and pricey. So when I spotted this latest solid wood IKEA gem on the site this week, it was love at first sight. 

This little side table is small but mighty; its curved design allows it to tuck into your couch, which saves tons of floor space. But unlike many other c-shaped side tables, this one looks like a real piece of furniture with some serious vintage-inspired charm. Introducing: IKEA’s UGGLERUM side table.

Made from solid rubberwood with a gorgeous walnut stain, the UGGLERUM side table has some major mid-century vibes. The side table is just one half of IKEA’s new UGGLERUM collection. There’s also the UGGLERUM coffee table, which is just as chic as its smaller cousin and could easily be mistaken for a true Danish antique (although it’s not made from solid wood; rather, the top is a walnut veneer).  

IKEA’s website describes the side table as “timeless and sophisticated,” highlighting its rounded edges and sculptural silhouette. As mentioned above, what sets the UGGLERUM apart from IKEA’s other side tables (aside from its solid wood construction) is that you can slide the foot of the table under the couch — this saves space and creates a perfect surface for working or eating on the couch. C-shaped side tables are ideal for small spaces, and to find one this chic and sturdy for just under $100 is a thrill.

Don’t just take my word for it. While this little table is brand-new in the States, there are already a few reviews. One happy IKEA customer writes that their new UGGLERUM side table is “light enough to move around to use as needed,” adding that they love that the base “can slide under [the] sofa, so [the] tabletop can be really close by if needed.” Another keeps it short and sweet: “This little side table fits easily into tight spaces, goes together easily (3 pieces), and I love it!”
