Curtains for your windows are a no-brainer solution for privacy, filtering sunlight, and adding texture to a space.

But why stop at just the windows? One Instagrammer tried out a trendy curtain installation that she’s seen going viral on social media using pieces from IKEA, and her bedroom went from lackluster to luxurious in a single afternoon.

Use Curtains on Your Walls to Soften Up Your Space

“Guys… run, don’t walk to IKEA,” Jen from @maeisonjen wrote in a recent caption. “This VIDGA system is a total game-changer. And I’m totally obsessed with how perfectly these curtains fit my new color scheme and completely transform the vibe of my bedroom.”

This textile upgrade doesn’t just look great; it’s practical, too. In a comment, Jen explained that the curtains are actually hiding a wall-mounted changing table for her little one. “But you can also hide a TV or other things this way,” she added.

Using the $20 VIDGA track system, which can be cut to any size, the VIDGA gliders, and the RIKTIG curtain hooks, Jen created an entire curtain wall, making the room look like it has more windows than it does. The soft pleats from the curtains create a warmer, more cocoon-like environment (ideal for sleeping in!).

You can use any curtains you like for this project — just make sure they’re long and wide enough to span the entire length of your wall, from ceiling to floor. Add more panels to the track for even more plush pleats and drapes, or keep it light and airy with fewer lightweight panels that let the light seep through.

Although some people didn’t quite get the point of this project, others agreed with Jen that the final result was just divine. “That looks so dreamy!” one person commented on Jen’s post. Another person joked, “If this is giving hospital, it must be the most gorgeous hospital ever.” Make your bedroom feel so luxurious with this curtain hack; you’ll never want to leave your bed again.
