I’ve thought, at times, that I’ve known every modern furniture brand under the sun. That’s what working as a home design editor for 15+ years will do to you. Somehow, though, a few gems have slipped under my radar. POVISON is the latest company I’m loving that fits that bill. Somehow, the brand has managed to thoughtfully integrate technology (think: conveniences like motorization and lighting) into stylish mid-century modern designs. But with quality offerings in a growing number of categories, an easy shopping and shipping experience, and a new brick-and-mortar store (with other locations potentially on the horizon), you’re probably going to be hearing more about POVISON soon.

If you’ve seen this brand pop on social media and have been wondering about it, you’ve come to the right place. I took a deep dive into all things POVISON and am sharing the details with you here.

Quick Overview

Is POVISON Furniture Worth It?

Yes, POVISON offers luxe-looking but still somewhat-budget-conscious furniture that skews heavily mid-century modern in style but still feels timeless, thanks to the incorporation of classic design materials and details. The brand has an emphasis on technological and functional integrations across different categories, but not at the expense of stylishness. You’ll find sofas, chairs, tables, dining furniture (sold as sets and a la carte), beds and bedroom furniture, and more available for purchase. Prices run the gamut based on the item, but big-ticket items like sofas tend to range between $1,300 and just under $8,000 at full price. The total cost all depends on the features included and the size of a given piece.

What Is POVISON?

Since being founded in 2020, direct-to-customer brand POVISON has been a purveyor of modern-meets-timeless furniture for real homes that are lived-in and loved. The brand puts emphasis on utility with thoughtful tech integration where it makes sense — things like motorized reclining on sofas and chairs, as well as uplighting for platform beds and kitchen islands. The brand’s aesthetic skews mid-century modern, but you can find pieces with trendy details like fluting, flange edge cushions, and bouclé material, as examples.

Does POVISON Have Stores?

POVISON actually just opened its first-ever permanent flagship retail store in the West Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. It’s 6,800 square-feet, so there’s plenty of space for floor models — with an emphasis on best-sellers — that customers can experience first-hand. CINÈST, POVISON’s sister brand that’s in the home theater category, will debut its first product line at the Los Angeles store.  Here, you can see photos of the store.

Is POVISON Furniture Easy to Assemble?

The tagline on POVISON’s website says it all: “The World’s No. 1 Fully Assembled Furniture Brand.” Since its inception, POVISON has been shipping pieces that are essentially fully ready to use once unboxed and placed in your desired spot.

For larger pieces such as sofas, TV stands, storage cabinets, and dining tables, though, note that “fully assembled” translates into the main frame being built. So you may have to screw on legs or hardware, and any cushions will need to be fluffed and placed. Modular items might require latching or attaching to be held firmly in place, and anti-tip installation for things like TV consoles and dressers (via safety hardware) must be handled by the customer. But nothing has to be assembled as though it were flat-packed in pieces.

Does POVISON Offer Delivery and Assembly?

Delivery is generally free of charge, and assembly is mostly taken care of, considering the way pieces are shipped as explained above. White Glove services are available as an upcharge for some of the largest pieces offered.

While assembly is minimal, instructional videos are available for many of the products if customers have questions. Support is also available via email, chat, and phone.

Does POVISON Have Any Sales?

Like other modern furniture brands, POVISON does offer sales. Right now, the brand is actually running a 4th of July Sale, where items are up to 40 percent off.

Is POVISON Furniture Worth It?

The consensus here is that yes, POVISON has quality pieces that work really well for the mid-century modern aesthetic in particular. The site is easy to navigate, and prices are reasonable — especially when you look at the features and details many items include.

As for what to buy, take a spin around the site to see what’s being offered. And if you want a quick look, here’s what I’m personally eyeing right now. Happy shopping!

Round Nightstand with Two Drawers
$339

I love the round shape of this sweet little nightstand. This makes it easy to tuck into small spaces, but it still offers two closed drawers’ worth of storage.

Modern 4 Drawers Dresser
$1,399

The fluting on this dresser is absolutely gorgeous. That, combined with the walnut finish and brass knobs, make it look so luxe. Storage-wise, it’s taller than it is wide, which, again, is great for tight bedrooms. You could even use this in an entry or hallway.

Bloc-Queen Size Upholstered Bed with Wingback Headboard
$1,499

The Wingback silhouette is more traditional for a bed (or sofa), but POVISON keeps it totally current with a squiggle flourish on said “Wingbacks.” Combine that with neutral beige upholstery, and you’ve got a bed frame that feels special but won’t feel dated in a year or two.

84 Inch Waterproof Chenille Storage Sofa
$2,399$2,159

You’d never know it from its sleek look, but the seats on this modular chenille sofa lift up to reveal storage compartments. Build out the configuration that works best for your space — you have total flexibility here.

$2,159 at Povision
Tulora-Glossy Sintered Stone Dining Table
$1,149

Tulip dining tables are iconic for a reason — they never go out of style! This one pairs sintered stone with a bronze base for a fancy, four-star-restaurant feel.

$1,149 at Povision
Ergopals-Power Reclining Loveseat
$2,399

I’m often the first one to scoff at motorized reclining seating — but only because it’s usually clunky and heavy-looking. But this loveseat, with its flange-edge cushions and linen-look fabric, is all substance and style. I can’t believe there’s a motor hiding in the frame!

$2,399 at Povision
Modern Kitchen Island with Extendable Table for 2-4
$2,439

When I saw that POVISON sold kitchen islands, I fully expected the offerings to be glorified bar carts with butcher block counters. But these islands are huge and multi-leveled, packed with so much storage and counter space. You have to have a sizable kitchen for one of these, but man, they’re beautiful and much less than custom construction would cost.

$2,439 at Povision
Mid Century Wooden Vanity Desk with Mirror and Lights
$699

The vanity-meets-desk selection from POVISON has impressed me in terms of the stylistic range offered. I’d actually use this particular piece as a bar cabinet myself. But really, it could do just about anything you’d want it to, from being a workspace to a make-up spot.
