Issa Rae Just Became An Airbnb Host
Writer and actress Issa Rae of “Insecure” fame is your new favorite Airbnb host. Rae is renting out a house in her hometown of South LA so that guests can experience “the culture, businesses and communities that influence my storytelling on screen,” she wrote in her Airbnb listing. “I can’t wait to show guests all the things that make Black LA so spherical firsthand.”
Rae is welcoming two guests for a weekend stay between Feb. 12 through 14 to celebrate the Big Game for just $56 per night. Bookings will open Feb. 8 and the weekend will be packed with activities like a virtual chat with Rae during check-in, a catered Game Day dinner for two, and a Rae-authored guide to the surrounding neighborhoods which will take you on a tour of some of her favorite South LA spots.
“Since my series debuted in 2016, it’s been an honor to showcase the people, culture and businesses that make South LA such a vibrant part of the city,” Rae said in a press release. “I became an Airbnb Host to create a stay where fans of the show can experience this for themselves. From dinner by Worldwide Tacos on game day, to art from my favorite local artists on the walls — this is LA, my way.”
Airbnb will also make a $500,000 donation together with Nasdaq to help support local South LA equitable health services, youth development, and job creation.
Rae’s fans can request to book this weekend stay beginning Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. ET.
