Joanna Gaines Will Convince You To Try This “So Beautiful” DIY (It’s Perfect for Summer!)
Summer flowers are starting to bloom, and Joanna Gaines is trying her hardest to preserve the memories of the season — and creating a ton of design inspiration in the process. She just unveiled her new flower drying rack, which she installed in her garden house, and it’s not only functional, but it’s also the prettiest centerpiece alternative you’ll ever see.
“I’ve really gotten into floral drying and pressing so I could preserve the seasonal stories of the garden here at the farm,” Gaines captioned a recent Instagram post. “Very grateful for the @magnolia visual teams help in making my floating floral drying rack dreams come true.”
“It’s just so beautiful,” one person commented on her post. Another added, “Be still my heart! This is my dream.” And someone else wrote, “This room is what my idea of heaven looks like.”
Gaines’ flower drying rack was custom-built to perfectly match the dimensions of her work table and is strung from the ceiling using eye hooks and some sturdy rope. If you’re handy, you can also build a frame for your own flower-drying purposes using dowels, strips, or strapping from the hardware store and a few screws — you could even create a grid using sticks from the woods for a super rustic look!
You can also pick a rack up online. Anthropologie sells a trellis that clamps onto your tabletop and provides ample space to dry all your favorite stems. It’s pricey, but sturdy enough to hold hanging candle displays or lighting for outdoor entertaining.
Get creative and preserve your memories from this summer while making your home look (and smell) incredible. Who needs a bouquet at the center of their dining room table when you have a canopy of beautiful drying blooms above?
