One person’s cottage is another person’s dream home. On January 20, Joanna Gaines shared a photo of her garden cottage on Instagram after doing a bit of early spring cleaning, and if you’re still riding the cottagecore wave, then you need to pin this picture to your vision board ASAP.

Complete with vintage gardeners’ manuals, glass jars filled with seeds, pots of all different sizes and colors, and green books galore, Jo’s “shed,” as it was once called, is truly an apothecary-themed refuge for those who love plants and the process of watching things grow. And it can even be used during the off-season thanks to a gorgeous stone fireplace.

“Did some spring cleaning in this cottage in the garden —now I just walk around in here and make up things to do bc I don’t want to leave,” Gaines captioned the photo.

Honestly, who would want to leave?

Jo designed the space to be multi-functional. It’s a potting shed, a place to craft floral arrangements, a peaceful home office, and a space to host dinner parties during the summer.

The garden cottage was also designed around the incredible center diamond-paned window above the sink. From there, more diamond-paned windows were added and two antique doors were put in at the front so the entire space can be opened up and filled with fresh air.

Walking into the garden cottage must feel like taking a trip back in time, or to a fantasy realm in which brewing spells and potions are just part of daily life. It’s really the library ladder that adds that magical touch.

You probably didn’t know you wanted to live in a garden cottage until just now — but Joanna Gaines has done it again.
