Jodie Foster’s Beverly Hills Property Is on the Market

While she prepares for a speaking gig at the upcoming South by Southwest festival, would-be luxury home buyers are somewhere hunched over their laptops, completely mesmerized by the gorgeous Beverly Hills mansion Jodie Foster just put on the market.

Listed by Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate David Kramer of Hilton & Hyland, the two-level 1950s dwelling is approximately 7,500 square feet, sits on a little more than an acre and has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The Oscar-winning actress purchased the home from producer Colin Callender in 2011 for $11.75 million, and she’s asking $15.9 million.

A private garden pathway leads right to the secluded home’s two-story entryway. The star of this space is undoubtedly an elegant chandelier, which illuminates the area and leads the way to the formal living room. A grand fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows make the living space perfect for entertaining. On either side of the living room are the media room and formal dining area.

The chef’s kitchen features a vaulted ceiling, white marble countertops, gray cabinetry and French doors that open up to the surrounding gardens and the property’s in-ground pool. In the spacious master suite, there’s another fireplace, exposed beams and a deck accessible through the en suite master bath that grants views of the downtown skyline and the Pacific Ocean.

Foster has been quite active on the real estate scene over the past several years. In 2014, she sold another Beverly Hills residence she’d owned since 1995 for just under $5 million. Three years prior, the actress offloaded another luxury pad – one she’d purchased from supermodel Cheryl Tiegs – located directly behind the storied Beverly Hills Hotel for $8.3 million. As Variety notes, this home was replaced with a super wanky villa that is now listed for $39 million, down from its original $55 million asking price.
