I love when a home storage solution doesn’t have a dedicated purpose. It’s so convenient to be able to throw a bunch of miscellaneous clutter into a basket or bin and hide it from sight. I have a bunch of them throughout my apartment, but my main gripe with these organizers is that they’re usually not that cute. So my new rule is I’m not allowed to get any more plastic bins, ugly metal racks, or fiberboard shelves. I want every item in my home to look nice, even if it’s supposed to be purely functional.

For stylish storage solutions, I find that H&M Home is an underrated place to shop. That’s where I found this sophisticated jute crate, which happens to be collapsible. The only downside is that H&M’s online inventory tends to sell out fast, so I would hop on this versatile organizing find right away and get it before it’s gone.

What Is the Jute Crate?

The jute crate is pared-back in its design but also subtly eye-catching. This is because it’s made of stainless steel and 100% jute, so it strikes a nice balance of natural and synthetic materials. The bottom is made of medium-density fiberboard, but luckily, this part isn’t visible from the outside and is just there to support weight.

The crate measures 14 inches long, 11 inches wide, and 10 inches tall, so it’s a good medium size that you can use in a variety of spaces. Place it next to your sofa for magazine storage, use it in the office to hold desk supplies, or keep one under the coffee table to hide kids’ toys from view. Because the bottom is made of MDF, I would avoid loading it with heavy things like books or workout gear.

Why You’ll Love the Jute Crate

Because the crate’s jute exterior is neutral in color, you’ll have no problem making it blend in with your furniture and decor, regardless of your aesthetic. Even though the jute is beige, the crate doesn’t look boring thanks to its sturdy stainless steel frame. It’s right on trend considering that silver decor was named a popular home accent for 2025.

In addition to its good looks, the crate is also practical, thanks to its collapsible design. If you decide you don’t have a use for it at any given time, you can fold it flat and tuck it in between furniture or into a storage closet.

I’m keeping an eye on the jute crate in case it sells out, and if you also like how it looks, I’d recommend doing the same. There’s no harm in getting a few to declutter every room in your home that could use some extra storage.
