This Ingenious Organizer Added So Much Extra Storage in My Tiny Bathroom Without Taking Up Space (No More Clutter!)
Getting ready used to be something I enjoyed doing every day. Lately, though, the mere thought of opening my bathroom sink drawers in search of a specific hair or makeup product has made the process kind of a drag. My two drawers are so packed that I struggle to open them, but they’re the only form of storage in my bathroom aside from my meager medicine cabinet and little rolling cart.
I’ve always eyed the toilet tank lid and figured there must be some way to utilize that empty spot. At one point I was even keeping my makeup bag there, but it didn’t look very streamlined. Then, YouCopia released a new line of bathroom organizers, which included a product that looked like the answer to all of my storage woes. Since installing the Hideaway Toilet Cabinet, my drawers feel infinitely less cluttered and accessing my most-used products is easier than ever.
What Is the Hideaway Toilet Cabinet?
This new YouCopia release is essentially a little storage box you adhere to your toilet tank lid. It’s made of plastic and features a base with two suction cups. After I unboxed the organizer and put it together, I peeled the plastic off of the suction cups and affixed them to the lid. Then I pulled down the cabinet’s white door. Inside, there are two locks that I pulled forward to lock the suction cups and organizer in place. Once that was done, I replaced the flat interior tray that covers the locks, and that was that. So simple!
Once your Hideaway Cabinet is assembled and adhered, you’re free to put whatever you want inside its 11.5” x 6” compartment. The white door keeps the contents concealed, so if you don’t want your extra toilet paper rolls visible, for example, you can hide them in there. The top of the cabinet has a grooved surface and is also good for holding miscellaneous items, like hair ties, cotton pads, or even a candle. Because the top and interior tray are removable, the cabinet is a breeze to clean. Plus, its plastic material won’t rust, and your items will remain protected from the humidity.
Why I Love the Hideaway Toilet Cabinet
I’ll admit that I was initially worried the cabinet would look out of place in my bathroom, but its white finish actually blends in perfectly with my white sink counter and toilet. It’s almost as if it were meant to be there all along! Storage-wise, I think the idea of using the cabinet to conceal extra toilet paper is ingenious, but I already have a separate toilet paper holder, so I use it to hold other items.
I’ve been having fun swapping out the contents based on what I’ve been reaching for the most. I usually keep a pack of makeup wipes in there, as well as some eyeshadow palettes I don’t want to expose to moisture. Sometimes, I’ll put my perfume of the day in there for the same reason. In any case, I can access the skincare and cosmetics I use the most without having to rummage through an overflowing drawer. The top of the cabinet serves as a nice little storage spot, too. It’s convenient for things like dental floss, my eyeglasses, my contacts case, and any serums I’ve been using lately.
When the door is closed, the cabinet looks sleek and compact, and when it gathers dust I just wipe it down with a wet wipe. It’s such a no-brainer, I wish I’d gotten it a year ago. I would seriously recommend it to anyone who, like me, is trying to use every last inch of viable storage space in their bathroom. This brilliant bathroom find might be a new release from YouCopia, but I don’t think it’ll be long before it’s a bestseller.
