This Under-the-Radar Brand Is My Secret to Finding the Most Stunning Flower Vases
I live in New York City, where there are so many cute home decor boutiques and local brands to check out. I enjoy exploring different neighborhoods and seeing what’s out there when I want something new for my apartment. But at some point last year I discovered the brand Kinto through work, and now it’s one of the only decor brands I want to shop from. Not only that, but it’s also a store I frequently recommend to friends and people I work with when they ask me about my favorite home brands.
It all started when I attended Kinto’s store opening in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood and received a gift card. I used my voucher to buy a beautiful flower vase, and since then I’ve gone back to the store to purchase two more vases for my apartment (and another one as a gift). At this point I think I’ll be a customer for life — or at least as long as I live in NYC.
What Is Kinto?
Kinto is a Japanese brand that sells more than just flower vases; it’s actually best known for its drinkware, which includes water bottles and tumblers, as well as tea and coffeeware. When I go in the store, I’m always impressed by how durable all of the glass products feel. Despite their delicate appearance, the glass vases and drinkware are suitable for everyday use, as I’ve found to be the case with my Aqua Culture vase.
In addition to my clear glass vase, I also own two vases from Kinto’s SACCO collection. I would eye their funky shapes and pretty colors every time I went in the store, so I finally ended up getting the ones I liked the most. First I got this soda glass vase in a lovely green color, which always pops against whatever kind of flowers I put inside. More recently I went back and got this pink porcelain version, which has a flat profile. If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t mind owning every vase from the SACCO collection; all of the shapes just look so sophisticated!
Why I Love Kinto
For the quality and materials you’re getting, I think Kinto’s products are a great value. I’ve seen similar home decor products at both independent boutiques and big retailers, and they usually strike me as being a bit overpriced. But Kinto’s items are worth every penny, in my opinion. I’ve owned two of its vases for almost a year, and they’ve held up really well. The pink SACCO vase is the newest addition to my collection, and I adore its unique silhouette and the way it displays just a couple of stems for a minimalist look. Since buying mine, I’ve gone back and bought the same pink vase again as a birthday gift for a friend, and she loves it too.
Now that I have such a fun vase collection, I look forward to buying fresh flowers weekly and styling each arrangement in different areas of my home. Sometimes I keep the SACCO vases in the same spot; other times, I’ll split them up and put one on my bookshelf and the other on my coffee table. I like to keep my Aqua Culture vase on my entryway table, so it’s usually the first thing that greets me when I come home.
Spring is finally here — celebrate the season by snagging a couple of vases of your own and decorating your home with flowers, too. It’s rare that I discover a brand I love and recommend to others the way I do with Kinto, but you should definitely check out its decor. While you’re at it, maybe you’ll find some snazzy new drinkware to add to your collection, too.
