Our home is a house we rent and it is nearly 100 years old in one of Chicago’s most charming suburbs. Everything in our home is done on an extreme budget. Nearly everything in the home was found thrifting, at a yard sale or on Craigslist!

Being a budget design blogger (I author the blog Goodwill Glam), I rather like to make a game of how cheaply I can find items for our home, like my vintage tufted velvet pink sofa, which I scored for $40!

The white campaign dresser featured in the dining room as a buffet was found at Goodwill for $6.99 and I quickly drug it home and refinished it! Almost every piece of furniture and decorative item in our home has a similar story, they are all incredible pieces found in unexpected places for amazing prices!

I think it makes a home more special to really search for things you love, that are unique to you and you don’t have to spend a fortune to make a home that you really love. It might take time, patience and quite a bit of hunting, but it is doable!
