Lauren Conrad Has Left The Hills, Selling Her Home for Big Bucks
While gossip-mongers whispered rumors about whether or not the famous reality TV star might be ready for a more private life, Lauren Conrad quietly sold her swoon-worthy home in Pacific Palisades this summer — right after announcing she’s expecting her first child, with husband William Tell.
Like a little Spanish-influenced white stucco, red tile, and wood castle (castl-ita?), Conrad’s former home just exudes traditional, luxury SoCal living — and a chic, modern farmhouse interior that would make Joanna Gaines swoon — despite just being built in 2004.
According to the Zillow listing for the property (which sold in late May for $4.75M), the 5,871 square foot Pacific Palisades home at 16801 Via La Costa was asking $5.195 million for the stunning yet understated home and pool that sit on a stately 61,800 square foot lot.
Not surprising for the gregarious and ever-popular reality TV star turned fashion mogul and her former musician turned lawyer husband, whose mantra “Work Hard, Be Nice to People” is featured prominently as a framed print in the living room (resting on Tell’s piano), the indoor-outdoor California lifestyle — and closet space — reign supreme. In the kitchen, clearly designed from the mind of a chef and entertainer, the clean white backdrop is the perfect canvas to showcase Conrad’s collection of organic, artisan serveware and home-cooked creations — plus a Sub-Zero fridge in which to store all that perfectly Instagrammable catering until showtime.
The (to us) dreamy estate features five bedrooms and six bedrooms, including a grand master bathroom with tiled shower, clawfoot tub, and rustic built-in double vanities that are just screaming to for someone to sit in front of them for a glam squad pampering. The grand master staircase between the two floors of the home features a wrought iron railing just begging for a gliding, glamorous entrance and big fashion reveal before a fancy red carpet event. Outside, the manicured lawns, xeriscaped patio area, and mature Cypress trees surrounding the property and classic kidney-shaped pool provide the perfect, intimate backdrop for parties — set right into the hills where Conrad got her big break.
Perhaps, even for the gracious royalty of reality TV, The Fame Game just gets to be too much, and even the serene white-washed and rustic wood spaces filled with organic materials and cozy nooks start failing to have a calming effect. Perhaps she’s just ready to trade in the private party palace for a family pad in a neighborhood with more kids (and other working moms) nearby. Who knows. We wish her, and her new little family, all the best in their new home — and for the new buyers to invite us to the housewarming.
