Before I decided to be a writer, I wanted to be a chef. My love of food started with watching Rachael Ray, Giada De Laurentiis, and Alton Brown on the Food Network when I would get home from middle school. Naturally, I made my way into the kitchen to try out the recipes I saw on…read more

I love a funky butter dish (peep this one featuring a literal doorknob that’s currently in my fridge as proof). There’s a time and place for those, but what I don’t have is a beautiful, classic butter dish I can break out for any and every occasion.

That’s why I’m eyeing the Le Creuset Heritage Butter Dish. Like so many of Le Creuset’s products, it has a timeless feel in an array of stunning colors. Better yet, you can get it for just $35.

What You Should Know About Le Creuset’s Heritage Butter Dish

The iconic French cookware brand — which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year! —  is known for its versatile, durable, and absolutely gorgeous Dutch ovens (though our team also loves its $22 mini round cocottes, adorable tapas dishes, and beautiful Balti dish). While Le Creuset’s Dutch ovens are a kitchen staple for many, including myself, they are definitely on the pricey side. So, this butter dish is an amazing way to get a gorgeous piece from the brand without spending hundreds of dollars.

It comes in seven colors, including bold red, alluring navy, and classic white. The stoneware butter dish doesn’t just look beautiful, it’s also pretty durable, considering it’s microwave-, freezer-, and dishwasher-safe. Plus, as many reviewers pointed out, this butter dish can easily hold your favorite butter — whether it’s the thicker blocks of European butter or the 1/2-cup sticks you might already have in a funkier butter dish in your fridge (ahem, me).

What Le Creuset Shoppers Are Saying

Average Rating: 4.8/5

“I am so happy with my Le Creuset dish. I was worried it would be too big when it arrived, but it’s perfect. Not so big for a regular stick, but also fits the bigger rectangular ones my stores sell. And it’s beautiful on the counter.” — Paige

“I picked this one partly on aesthetics (I love Le Creuset), but was pleasantly surprised to discover that the little handle on the lid you can slip your finger through makes it really easy to hold and transport securely.” — Mollie

“Love this butter dish — keeps butter from absorbing fridge air and keeps butter chilled on the counter and right size for European butter. Thinking about a second for cream cheese!” — CLM
