Semihandmade cabinet doors have long been a go-to glow-up for IKEA cabinet bases. Semihandmade offers stylish doors and drawer fronts fitted to SEKTION, GODMORGAN, and BESTA cabinets, so they’re a natural choice for DIYers looking to give their kitchens and bathrooms (and more!) a custom look.

Recently, Semihandmade launched its own plywood cabinet bases, too, so you can use the brand for your kitchen redo whether you’re looking to give your kitchen a facelift by replacing just the cabinet fronts or a full reno by replacing the cabinets entirely. And now, Semihandmade and HGTV-famous designer Leanne Ford are teaming up to offer cabinet fronts in Ford’s signature light and airy style.

The three profiles are Shaker, slab, and frame, and they come in two different finishes. The first is a painted one with a classic paper-white tone. (The color is Ford’s favorite shade of white paint,  Sherwin-Williams’ Shoji White.)

The second finish is a white oak option with a whitewash stain that gives an aged-to-perfection look with no actual sanding or staining required on your end. “The two finishes are simple enough to work in any space, and because of the different profile options, they also work well in any style of home: traditional, modern, and all the fun genres in between,” Ford tells AT.

Ford says finding the perfect stain was no easy task — especially because seals for white oak tend to yellow after you apply them and let them dry. According to Ford, this is “the perfect formula, so that even though these fronts are sealed and protected, they have all the beauty of an aged white oak.”

The cabinet fronts are meant for the new Semihandmade cabinet bases, but they also work with some IKEA pieces, too. At launch, the collection will work with two IKEA systems: The BESTA and GODMORGON cabinet lines, the media cabinet and bath cabinet lines, respectively, “both of which are extremely popular with Semihandmade customers,” notes Semihandmade founder John McDonald.

“Later in the year, we will be releasing a limited number of doors and drawer fronts that fit multiple SEKTION cabinets (IKEA‘s kitchen system), so things like hacks and Islands are possible,” McDonald says.

As is tried and true for the Semihandmade brand, Ford says that the collection offers “beautiful options for everybody looking to create their dream kitchen — full reno or not!”
