Whether I’m asking my mom to weigh in on an iffy-looking piece of produce or to share how to bring a flailing houseplant back from the dead, she always happily humors me with answers to all my (sometimes ridiculous) questions. When prompted for Mother’s Day gift ideas, though, she quiets — like a witness who won’t budge. Blowing up her phone with inquiries gets me nowhere, so I’ve adjusted my approach by getting her “gifts” that are more like shared experiences — like this LEGO Botanicals Peace Lily Set. It’s something different that we can do together, and when it’s done she’ll have a piece of decor to hold the memory.

What Is the LEGO Peace Lily Botanical Set?

The 474-piece LEGO set captures the Peace Lily’s life cycle in three stages: with two flower buds, two unfurling blooms, and two lilies in peak bloom. It’s framed by vibrant green leaves and includes a peach plant pot with a cute ribbed exterior for decorative appeal. Once built, the Peace Lily is over 12 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep. It’s small enough to sit on a bookshelf, entryway console, or at the center of the dining table, but big enough to spark conversation (and compliments).

Like all LEGO sets, the Peace Lily comes with easy-to-follow instructions, and there are a few extra pieces just in case you need them. It’s also surprisingly more affordable than LEGO’s other Botanical sets at $50. A small price to pay for bonding time with Mom — and a decor accent she’ll keep forever.

Why the LEGO Peace Lily Botanical Set Is the Best Mother’s Day Gift

I can confidently say that my mom hasn’t touched a LEGO since I was around 10 years old, so I just know it’ll make her feel warm and fuzzy to re-create a childhood memory together (sappiness runs in the family!). Not to mention that the Peace Lily is a far cry from the Star Wars sets my brother and I used to play with as kids.

Besides, building a LEGO set is a different kind of “activity” gift. Instead of seeing a play or movie (where conversation is actively discouraged), or going to a packed restaurant (where it’s impossible to talk), we can chat, catch up, and exchange stories over this shared experience. I don’t want to speak for moms everywhere, but I’d wager that bonding time together is the best gift there is.

The LEGO Peace Lily gives her all the vibrance of a real-life plant, with none of the upkeep. Fresh plants are great and all, but giving them as a gift can sometimes feel more like a shift of responsibility than a special treat. With this, my mom gets the vivid elegance of an au naturel Peace Lily, without the pressure of watering and keeping it alive. There’s also the added gratification of knowing she built it herself (with my help, of course).

If you’re worried about the LEGO set throwing off your mom’s home decor, don’t worry. The Peace Lily is vibrant and lifelike, yet clean and non-distracting; it’s a set that she’ll be proud to display no matter her design aesthetic. Whether it’s on a living room shelf, coffee table, or console — it’s a piece she’ll love looking at, and one that’ll remind her of good times shared for years to come!

If you want to receive your gift in time for Mother’s Day, I wouldn’t wait. Order your LEGO Peace Lily Botanical Set before it’s too late!
