Wayfair’s Stylish Faux Leather Sofa Is Giving Us Major West Elm Vibes — and at a Fraction of the Price
There’s no faster way to elevate the look of your entire living room than furnishing it with a statement-making sofa. This could entail picking something oversized, bold in color, or upholstered in velvet. But if you want to draw eyes while still sticking with a timeless material, you can’t go wrong with leather. The only problem? Leather couches can be quite pricey, not to mention delicate depending on the grain. Lucky for you, textile innovation has come a long way, and you now have plenty of faux leather options to choose from. Not only are many of them just as stylish as real leather, but they’re much cheaper, too. Case in point: the Louvre sofa from Wayfair, which is priced at under $500. If it looks familiar, that’s because we reviewed a similar leather sofa in our Personal Shopper series. You can imagine, then, how excited we were to find a version that looks nearly identical to the customer- and editor-favorite couch going for over $2,000.
What is the Louvre faux leather sofa?
Measuring 81″ wide, this two-seater is not only beautiful, but it’s also small-space-friendly. Its faux leather material is also quite durable, not to mention waterproof and fire-resistant. To clean it, simply vacuum the surface with a soft brush attachment and spot-clean where needed. What’s more, this model’s cushions are removable, so you’ll also be able to rid its interior of crumbs easily. Sporting clean lines and slightly flared arms, the sofa is modern in appearance, though its raised wooden legs do lend a slightly mid-century vibe. You have a choice of six sophisticated upholstery colors, each of which is chic enough to stand on its own or which you can dress up with accent pillows and throws for a cozier look. You’ll also find the couch to be supremely comfortable thanks to its innerspring system and high-density foam fill.
Immediately upon seeing the Louvre sofa, we were reminded of West Elm’s Axel leather sofa, which we deemed the store’s best WFH sofa. After viewing it in person, we were taken with the Axel’s upright seats and firm cushions, as well as the fact that it’s spacious enough for lounging without being oversized.
In looking at the Louvre sofa product page, we see that it shares all of these features with the pricier couch. Although we can’t recommend West Elm’s sofas enough, if you’re trying to forego the $3,000 price tag and stick to a smaller budget, the Wayfair model is a solid alternative.
