I’m a big fan of welcoming more serveware into my home. If I’m having a bad day, there’s nothing that a new mug or wine glass can’t fix. The only catch: I have limited space, so I need to search for functional and fun-looking pieces.

When I was gifted a set of four Mannerist’s The Everyday Glass, they checked all the boxes. For starters, the glasses (which come in Clear or Amber Smoke colors) look more like glass sculptures than kitchenware. Originally designed in Grand Rapids, Michigan, each glass is also hand-blown in China’s Shanxi province and feels super-sturdy in hand.

What makes these glasses unique isn’t just their ribbed, bulbous shape (which narrows in the middle, making it great for holding!), but also how each one is truly custom. Some might have slight imperfections from being individually hand-blown, making them seem charmingly storied and one-of-a-kind.

Another bonus of these (dishwasher-safe!) glasses? Their functionality. Let’s say I’m having a dinner party that kicks off with a cocktail hour. These groovy cups are versatile enough to be used for a signature drink and then transition into wine glasses during the dinner. And when I’m not hosting, I love elevating mundane essentials, so this becomes a perfect water glass.

Beautiful design aside, shopping from Mannerist feels like a special occasion — especially because it’s a small, woman-owned business based in Michigan. Plus, the fact that they currently only carry two products (the glasses and a coaster set) convinces me that every piece is carefully considered and crafted.

A set of four Mannerist Everyday Glasses costs $90 (around $22.50 per glass), which is definitely on the pricier side, but they’re worth it when you consider each cup’s craftsmanship, unique nature, and beauty. Not to mention you can use them to drink pretty much anything!
