This Simple Closet Storage Solution Has Totally Cleared the Clutter From My Bedroom
I’ve always used the top shelf of my closet for things in boxes that I don’t need to access on a day-to-day basis (think: fancy shoes, old board games, etc.). It’s just such a hard spot to reach, and loose items are bound to become a total mess up there with me pawing blindly for the exact sweater I want. But to be honest, I don’t have enough storage space in my apartment to devote all of that real estate to things I don’t use very often. It was only when the lake of space in my closet was causing a mess to pile up in my actual bedroom that I was finally motivated to do something about it. To put a stop to the clutter before it could get any worse, I decided to try a new strategy for organizing my closet: Clear Plastic Closet Storage containers from mDesign.
The mDesign closet organization bins are pretty simple, but their size, durability, and convenient design make them standouts. The 12” x 10” bins are crafted from strong plastic that makes them highly durable. The handles are integrated as cut-outs on each end, giving the bin an overall sleek appearance with nothing sticking out beyond the frame (and making the storage container easy to pull down from the shelf — finally!). Since the storage bins are clear, it’s easy to see what’s inside, and subtle ridges on the bottom make them a bit more stylish than run-of-the-mill clear bins that you’d find anywhere.
I got a two-piece set of the mDesign storage bins and found that they make fabulous companions for the brand’s clear closet dividers (another personal fave). Before I got these bins, I didn’t have a good home for my belts, hats, and scarves. Instead, they were squatting in a corner of my bedroom. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone digging in my scarf pile, unsure if the one I’m searching for is actually in there at all. With the mDesign storage bins, I put all of my scarves in one place and used the other for belts and hats. Then I staggered both bins on top shelf with dividers in between. My closet got a massive upgrade, and my bedroom looks so much cleaner.
Once my top shelf was a wasteland where board games went to die, but now it’s an oasis of organization. I’m planning to buy a few more sets of bins to use for seasonal accessories that I don’t want to forget about next year. I’m continuing to make changes to get my closet where I want it to be, but these bins have given me an amazing start.
