Photographer Latisha Carlson, her husband Matt, their three kids, and the dog all live in a renovated modern bohemian dwelling. In the heart of a residential street in Albuquerque, their house has not only been a personal DIY renovation, but a place for Tish to hone in on her passion for interior design. When she and Matt are not traveling for work, she runs a home goods and plant shop called No Longer Wander.

Family is her number one priority in mind at home, and she admits that she constantly thinks about how she can entertain in their home. “I am always looking at the furniture choices, the layout, the things I need to entertain best…” She explains that she wants her home to feel cozy enough that people can laugh or cry with comfort. “I want people to feel they can stay a while. I want them to feel they can sit quietly or yell with joy! My home is place where people can be themselves!”

Tish also says that living in the desert has inspired her. “I have added Southwest touches through my design choices. It feels good to bring in the culture around me.”

Favorite Element: This is hard… I try to be intentional about loving everything that is in our house.

Biggest Challenge: The battle between minimal and having too much. I have found I am really honing in on being minimal and it is really freeing.

Biggest Embarrassment: As far as my home? My drawers that are still cluttered and the garage that still has graffiti on the walls from past owners.

Proudest DIY: Well we have renovated most of the home ourselves. My husband Matt has put a lot of hours into this home!

Biggest Indulgence: Hmmmm… I mean we have put a lot of love and hard work into this home.

Best Advice: Learn what you really love about your own home. Learn what really inspires you most and then hone in on all of that. Say no to the things that you don’t love and even say no to the things that you may not love as much as something else. When you look around, you really should love looking at every element. It should mean something to you or inspire you.
