Sundays are my designated prep days. I batch meals, catch up on laundry, map out workouts, and generally try to set myself up for a smoother workweek. When I have a lot on my plate, my brain works best if I stay in “do mode,” powering through everything first and winding down as I clean up later.

The only problem is that it means circling back to clean floors after a full day of prep. As therapeutic and relaxing as cleaning can be for me, it’s still another task on the list. So when I had the chance to try the Narwal Flow, a robot vacuum and mop combo, I wanted to see if it could help me handle my floors while I kept moving through my to-do list. Here’s how it did.

Quick Overview

Features That Stand Out

The biggest differentiator with the Narwal Flow is its FlowWash Mopping System. Instead of dragging a dirty mop pad across your floors, the track mop is continuously washed in real time using hot water and a built-in scraper. That means grime is removed as it cleans (not redistributed). It also applies serious pressure while mopping, which helps tackle stuck-on messes in fewer passes. Combined with its powerful suction, the Narwal Flow vacuums and mops simultaneously, so you’re not doubling your effort.

Navigation is another standout. The dual-camera TwinAI Dodge Obstacle Avoidance system recognizes over 200 object types, allowing the robot to move around cords, furniture legs, and tight spaces without getting stuck or tangled. The extending mop and reversing side brush get impressively close to walls and baseboards, too (a spot many robot cleaners tend to miss).

How It Performed

I ran the Narwal Flow during a typical Sunday prep day — flour on the floor, vegetable scraps near the counter, and water splashes tracked through the kitchen. After meal prepping, while I continued in another room, the Narwal Flow handled the mess in the background.

It transitioned smoothly between hard floors and rugs, climbed over thresholds without hesitation, and navigated around stools and table legs without intervention. When I checked back later, the floors were visibly cleaner without streaks, debris, or damp residue.

What impressed me most was the hands-off experience. Once cleaning was done, the robot returned to its base, washed the mop pads with hot water, and dried them with warm air. I didn’t have to rinse anything in the sink or deal with dirty mop water afterward.

What we love

  • Real-time mop washing prevents streaking
  • Excellent obstacle avoidance
  • Strong suction handles dust, crumbs, and pet hair
  • Self-cleaning, self-drying base minimizes maintenance

Good to know

  • It doesn’t replace actual vacuuming and mopping
  • Self-cleaning cycle adds time after cleaning
  • Extremely sticky, dried-on messes may need a second pass

What We Love

  • The mop actually stays clean: The continuous washing system makes a noticeable difference in results.
  • It has smart navigation: It moves around everyday clutter without babysitting. It recognizes 200-plus object types.
  • There’s strong suction and a self-cleaning base: The strong 22,000 Pascal suction power can handle dust, crumbs, and pet hair, while the self-cleaning makes device cleanup a breeze.

Good to Know

  • It doesn’t replace vacuuming and mopping: While this robot vacuum and mop has an advanced mopping system and strong suction, it doesn’t totally replace actually vacuuming and mopping your floors.
  • The self-cleaning cycle adds extra time after each run: After cleaning, the Narwal Flow spends a few additional minutes washing and drying the mop pads at the base, which means it doesn’t shut off immediately.
  • Very sticky or dried-on messes may need a second pass: While it handles everyday dirt and spills easily, tougher residue can benefit from an extra run.

Should You Buy the Narwal Flow?

If you already like the idea of robot cleaning but want something more thorough than a basic vacuum-only model, the Narwal Flow is worth considering. It’s especially well-suited for busy households, open kitchens, pet owners, or anyone who wants cleaner floors without rearranging their schedule to make it happen.

It won’t replace regular mopping and vacuuming or any deep, hands-on scrubbing for truly baked-on messes, but for everyday upkeep and multitasking days, it delivers cleaner floors with significantly less effort.
