Natalie Portman’s New Montecito Mansion is Indoor Outdoor Living Perfection
Ever wonder how Oscar winning actor Natalie Portman relaxes? Based on her latest real estate acquisition, we’re guessing that staring at the ocean factors in heavily. The Jackie star recently purchased a vacation home in Montecito, a town on the California coast northwest of Los Angeles near Santa Barbara. Check out the property for yourself.
The modern vacation home, designed by Santa Barbara architect Barton Meyers, set Portman back $6.5 million. The 3,991 square foot property has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and sits on 10.4 acres . The steel, glass, and concrete structure is prime for that SoCal style of indoor/outdoor living, with a retractable roof over the dining room that opens onto a variety of patio and garden space.
Speaking of outdoors, the property also has a a swimming pool, a rock garden, and a spacious entertaining area with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. From the house, the land slopes down toward the Pacific Ocean, of which there are incredible views from practically every room in the house (the floor to ceiling windows definitely help).
Portman and her husband, Black Swan costar Benjamin Millepied, and their two children also have a home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz (they’re neighbors with Angelina Jolie).
Not that Montecito isn’t a celeb hotspot; the town has been home to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Jeff Bridges, and Gene Hackman. Oprah currently has a house there, a 23 acre ranch (with an avocado grove, koi ponds, and equestrian facilities) that she bought in February 2016 for $28.9 million, according to Architectural Digest.
Stunning views and Oprah’s your neighbor? Where’s our invite, Natalie?
