Think you need to spend a lot on new furniture to give your space a total overhaul? Think again. This compact kitchen office gets a 180° makeover from the pros at Martha Stewart using a new color and a few inexpensive additions — a task chair, acrylic desk organizers and a rolling window blind (really!).

Using the interior design world’s version of “put a bird on it,” the pros at Martha Stewart made over this office with a “make it white” philosophy—and it totally works.

The blah-brown cubbies from the “before” shot get a re-do with new white acrylic desktops cut to size and white iron-on-edge melamine strips.

A bevy of perfectly-suited organizers tackle gently cluttered areas, while tough spots like the charging station and printer cubby are fitted with clever solutions. The charging shelf features a false back puncture with holes for easy access to the power strip behind, and the printer shelf is fitted with paper storage (secured with coffee hooks) and a clutter-concealing vinyl roller window shade.
