The First Official ‘Harry Potter’ Knitting Pattern Book Will Be Here Soon
For diehard Harry Potter fans, as wonderful as the books and movies are, it’s even more of a treat to read the books and watch the movies while also physically immersing yourself in the wizarding world. That’s why there are handknit Weasley sweaters, a Harry Potter sock advent calendar, and an Airbnb in Harry’s childhood neighborhood.
Now, fans who knit have even more options for expressing their love of all things magical. Harry Potter: Knitting Magic, the first official Harry Potter knitting book, goes on sale January 28. In the meantime, here’s a preview of what you can expect from the book.
Of course, Harry Potter knitting begins with Hogwarts house-colored scarves. This beginner-friendly knit lets you share your house pride with a thick-and-thin stripe pattern. (If you identify with more than one house, you can mix colors as you please. Griffynpuff forever.)
If you’re ready to graduate from scarves and try knitting a sweater, you can also display your house alliance with this versatile cardigan.
This Sorting Hat mobile is adorable and sweet, not to mention the perfect tool for spreading the love or Harry Potter to the next generation as early as possible. You don’t have to be a child to hang it in your bedroom either. We’ll never judge.
For a subtle nod to your favorite character, Hermione Granger, knit this time-turner pullover, which is also just a classically beautiful colorwork sweater.
Dolores Umbridge might be one of the most infuriating characters from the Harry Potter cannon, but she does have an excellent wardrobe, for those who like pink and tweed. This knitted cat scarf guarantees double-takes, and no cats will be harmed in its making.
Oh, and how could we not share this Cornish pixie amigurumi?
We can’t wait to see the rest of the 25+ patterns when the book comes out on January 28, 2020. In the meantime, you can pre-order it on Amazon here.
