Oprah Just Decked Her Halls with the Most Lush Stair Garland
Oprah doesn’t do things halfway. When she’s not giving out cars on her former daytime talk show or showing fans around her extensive Hawaiian garden (that is definitely more of a field than a garden), she’s giving a glimpse inside her home, which is now decked out for the holidays — and it’s just as spectacular as you’d imagine.
Last week, Lady O took to Instagram to share a clip of her decadent staircase that has undergone a makeover just in time for the festive season. “Decorating started today with a lot of help from @porch_summerland. Wish I could transport the scents. Is your tree up yet? 🎄🎄🎄” she wrote in the caption.
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas,” Oprah says in the video as she stands on her staircase while a team of designers place a gorgeous green garland around her handrail. “Do you all think it’s too soon? It can’t be too soon because people started in October.” It’s never too soon, Oprah — just ask Britney Spears or Tan France.
Oprah then goes on to explain that her favorite feature of the garland is the giant pinecones, reminding her of growing up in Mississippi where they would fall off the trees and into her back yard.
“I wish you could transfer the scent because it smells like a pine forest in here,” Oprah says. “There’s like five different pines here. It’s really fantastic. Beautiful.”
If you, too, would like to adorn your staircase with a fancy foliage-filled garland, there are plenty of options out there. Walmart’s Best Choice Products 9ft Pre-Lit Christmas Garland features pinecones and berries along with 50 warm LED lights to add a Christmassy glow to your stairway, mantel, window frames, or wherever.
Meanwhile, Target’s Unlit Gold Ornaments, Berries, and Pinecones Shatter-Resistant Artificial Christmas Garland will add a subtle pop of color to your space.
Oprah Daily also revealed that Oprah doesn’t have Christmas trees inside her California home and always opts to place the 12-foot fir trees outside that have, this year, been shipped from Oregon.
“The trees offer such a festive welcoming moment for Oprah and her guests,” Diana Dolan, Owner of Porch Summerland says. “Each is decorated with about 3,600 white lights, which take a day to set up.”
All this is to say, Oprah knows how to go all out for the holidays.
