Tile floors are a welcome addition to just about any room of the home. But more often than not, people opt for plain white. And sure, it’s a safe bet, but one of the best parts about tile flooring is that pattern play is completely acceptable and encouraged. Need some guidance as you pick a tile pattern for your new home or decorate around an existing floor design? Check out these show-stopping tile floors at the top of our inspiration board.

Pattern Play

Talk about a warm welcome! This tile pattern is oh-so-inviting and still shines when paired with tribal prints, boho floor pillows, and charming accessories, which results in a collected, well-traveled look.

Mix It Up

Don’t be afraid to mix and match tile patterns within the same home. The image above showcases the same residence profiled in the first photo, and we love how these two different floors work together seamlessly. Just think of it as an excuse to bring out all of the colorful accessories.

Think Boho

This Southwestern-style tile is funky without being too overwhelming. Adding themed accessories (we see you, horns!) is an easy way to play up this design.

Turn Up the Volume

Between the loud tile pattern, bright curtains, an oversized art print, and stylish lighting, no detail was overlooked in this kitchen. All of these elements combine to result in a space that’s welcoming and sure to be the talk of the neighborhood.

Midcentury Glam

This tiled floor isn’t the only thing doing the talking in this bathroom, which is one of our absolute faves. I mean, just look at those midcentury modern sconces and that Slim Aarons photograph.

Compare and Contrast

Black and white tiles can still accommodate colorful furniture. The addition of a blue linen cabinet adds a rustic touch to this otherwise modern bathroom.

Rockin’ Retro

Think black and white kitchen tiles are officially a thing of the past? Think again. We love how this classic pattern looks nowadays, too. Let the tiles do the talking or plop down a small, brightly-colored area rug for added oomph.

Colorful Corner

Tiled floors add life to this beautiful breakfast nook. Brightly colored pillows and a printed seat cushion make what’s already a cheerful space even more peppy. Don’t be afraid to add more classic furniture items—like the cane chair shown above—to a space that’s otherwise more modern.
