There’s nothing I find more useless than a dopp kit, or toiletry bag, that’s really just a single compartment with a zipper. I hate digging through an unorganized pile of travel-sized items for one specific thing and finding something else entirely. As such, I’ve been looking for a good toiletry bag that really delivers on organizing my toiletries while also being able to be taken through TSA security. I finally got my hands on a toiletry bag that ticked a lot of those boxes for a long trip earlier this year, and I can say that it held up to my criteria. Enter: the Paz Hanging Toiletry Bag from BAGSMART.

What Is the BAGSMART Paz Hanging Toiletry Bag?

The BAGSMART Paz Hanging Toiletry Bag is a toiletry bag from the company’s Paz line of bags. It, of course, hangs (either by handle or by an interior hook) and has four interior compartments and two front zipper pockets. The exterior of the bag is water-resistant, which is great for being in a wet bathroom setting but also for anything that might befall it in travel and for easy cleaning.

It’s incredibly lightweight when empty, and when zipped up measures 9.1 inches tall, 4.3 inches deep, and 12.6 inches wide. When unzipped totally to hang on a bathroom hook or door, it extends all the way out to 26.5 inches of storage.

Each interior compartment has a PVC lining rather than a fabric one so that you can see each item in your toiletry kit, and also elastic bands to secure your toiletries so they don’t fly around the bag. Of the two exterior compartments, one is an extra zipper compartment with another plastic interior container and a non-plastic covered compartment with elastic bands for storing your toothbrush, tweezers, hairbrushes, and whatever long and thin items you might want to store separately from your liquids. The other is a classic zipper pocket that’s perfect for hair ties or other items that you don’t need to worry about exploding mid-flight.

What I Like About the BAGSMART Paz Hanging Toiletry Bag

The transparent pockets are a game-changer. They’re perfect for easily finding what you need — especially if you’re the type of person who puts things away in different places every time you reach for something (aka me). But it also gives me peace of mind knowing that if any liquid explosions befall my bag, it’ll be contained to just one sticky area rather than getting mystery gloop everywhere.

And if I end up going through a TSA line where they are more strict about the clear plastic container liquids rule, I can easily unzip my main compartments for the agent to see everything inside and the clear plastic interior of it all.

Honestly, my only complaint about the Paz might be that it’s almost Mary Poppins-like. It stores so much stuff that I was almost running out of stuff to put into it. It folds up to a small size, and I could fit it in my carry-on for a long three-week trip without checking any bags, so it’s not that it’s too big for travel or that it takes up too much space. But I almost had too much room in the bag for everything I would bring along on a trip.

Ultimately, I think of this as a plus — in the future when I’m traveling with my husband, I’ll just put all of our toiletries in this bag rather than us carrying two separate bags (which will give us more room to pack clothing and shoes). I could take half of the compartments and he could take the other half, and we’d still be totally gravy — it’s that big!
