Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are Hollywood's reigning relationship goals, and now they just might be house goals, too. Their new pad is in the Los Feliz neighborhood of LA, around the corner from Angelina Jolie.
The exclusive, gated Laughlin Park area of Los Feliz is home to the Cecil B. DeMille estate, which was bought by the famed director in 1916 and by Jolie in June of this year (Jolie spent just a bit more than DeMille; he paid $28,000, and she $24.5 million). "The Good Place" and "CHIPs" stars reportedly bought just over a quarter mile away on Laughlin Park Drive, and while the couple spent (a modest in comparison) $4.3 million, they do get the award for second largest property in the enclave, according to the LA Times.
Designed in 1922 by architect Arthur R. Kelly (famously known for the Playboy Mansion), the 4,048 square foot English Revival house has a total of four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The lower level, the listing says, would make a great recreation space or movie screening room, so maybe Shepard can put his La-Z-Boy down there.
The home sits on nearly an acre of walled in grounds, with mature and "majestic trees, sprawling lawns & vegetation," according to the listing. There is also a separate carriage house and garage, a motor court, and a pool with a hot tub.
Unless they're into that yellow kitchen, the place will be a bit of a Fixer Upper (as in the Frozen song, but also possibly the shiplap show). But we already know Bell is down to tackle some renovations—she gave her sister's basement a complete overhaul with Houzz in March of this year.
The property was last sold in February of this year for $3.225 million, notes the LA Times.
