The One Thing I’m Shopping from Pottery Barn’s Dreamy New Collab

Every once in a while, I peruse the LoveShackFancy collections on the Pottery Barn Kids and PBTeen websites and ask myself, “How many of these items could I make work in an adult apartment?” Luckily, as far as PB x LSF is concerned, you no longer have to venture over to the kids’ site. Just yesterday, Pottery Barn debuted its own LoveShackFancy collection, and it’s chock-full of romantic home decor and bedding.

In browsing the new offerings, my eye was drawn to all of the delightfully frilly bed blankets, pillow shams, and quilts. If you’re a fan of fun bedding and the coquette aesthetic in particular, you might’ve heard that bed ruffles and textured layering are having a revival. This collection has all of that and more, but the one bedding staple that caught my attention was the ikat meadow sheet set. It merges multiple interesting design details and gives your bedscape a soft touch in more ways than one.

This sheet set is made of 100% cotton percale and has a 200-thread count. Our staffers are longtime fans of Pottery Barn cotton sheets, and contributor Mark even tested the brand’s organic percale set, describing it as having a smooth, hotel-quality feel. He also noted that the sheets got softer and more luxurious-feeling with every wash. The ikat sheet set is slightly different because it has a lower thread count, so although it’ll have that same smooth cotton feel, it’ll likely feel lighter, more breathable, and more suitable for warm weather than the brand’s other percale sheets.

Unless you buy the twin-size sheets, your set will come with the standard flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases. The fitted sheet can fit mattresses up to 16 inches deep, which is pretty impressive. Each piece has a delicate pink-and-white ikat print, and the flat sheet and pillow shams have ruffly edges. As for care, Pottery Barn recommends washing the sheets on a warm, gentle cycle and tumble drying them on low heat. 

The ikat meadow sheets have just enough pizzazz without looking too busy. They have a lovely floral print that almost reminds me of toile, and they’re not excessively ruffly. Instead, the ruffles will peek out over your duvet and the sides of your bed, creating a dainty, inviting aesthetic. Both looks-wise and fabric-wise, the sheet set could not have dropped at a better time, as its light but durable fabrication will prove cooling and airy enough for spring and summer.

Naturally, the sheets would also pair well with other frilly or otherwise textured bedding. You could even grab a complete bedding set from the LoveShackFancy collection to outfit your bed in one go.
