IKEA is known for its vast collection of reasonably priced home furnishings, storage and organization solutions, and decor and accessories. But you can also clean up on cleaning supplies at the store and on its website. Wondering just how much of a bargain IKEA’s stock of cleaning supplies is? We asked pro cleaner Robin Murphy at ChirpChirp Cleaning in White Plains, New York, to browse the website to see what she would buy with a $25 budget — and she came out just under it at $24.73 before taxes. Here’s what her hypothetical haul looks like.

PEPPRIG Scrubbing pad
$1

A sponge with good scrubbing power makes quick work of dishes and other surfaces. “I find most sponges icky because they wear out quickly and look ratty, but with the cloth covers, these are a stylish and durable alternative,” says Murphy, who notes that it has a high rating on IKEA’s website and is sold in a pack of three.

LILLNAGGEN Shower squeegee
$2

Hate scrubbing tile? There’s an easier way to keep your shower clean. “A shower squeegee is the ultimate time saver,” says Murphy, adding that they minimize the effort in preventing water spots and soap scum. Plus, $1.99 is a bargain for this handy tool.

PEPPRIG Microfiber cloth
$2

Microfiber cloths not only cut down on paper towel usage, but they’re also more effective when cleaning your space. “These microfiber cloths offer the best of both worlds, with one soft side perfect for dusting and a coarser side for when you need a bit more abrasion,” says Murphy. “Unlike many industrial-looking microfiber options, these are attractive enough to keep out in the open rather than hiding them under your sink.”

PEPPRIG Duster cover
$3

Add this long duster cover to a pole to dust high and low — including those spots that you’ve been ignoring. “[It] will get the cobwebs and dust off the woodwork and ceilings, including recessed lighting,” says Murphy.

PEPPRIG Gap cleaning cover
$2

See a theme? Reusable microfiber duster covers like this one make it easy to dust larger surface areas. Murphy calls this narrow duster refill “an excellent tool for reaching and cleaning tight spaces and crevices that are often difficult to access.”

PEPPRIG Squeeze-clean flat mop
$10

The most expensive item on this list — which is still quite a bargain — is another great addition to your home cleaning arsenal. “I’m a big flat mop fan,” says Murphy. “They provide better coverage and maneuverability, especially in tight spaces, while the design allows for more even pressure, which protects against streaks.” She adds that they are also easier to clean.

PEPPRIG Microfiber pad for flat mop
$4

Having a mop on hand is one thing, but having plenty of mop pad refills is another. “I always want extra mop pads, as I’m quick to replace them as soon as they are soiled,” says Murphy, adding that she also uses different mops in the bathrooms. “I went with the two-pack 5x15” over the 11x14” because there’s more coverage for the extra 40 cents!”
