There’s no screwing around when it comes to travel. Trust me, I’ve learned that the hard way. While cheap luggage may last a few trips, it eventually gets scuffed up, breaks, and just doesn’t navigate the airport the way you need it to (think bad maneuverability and an uncomfortable handle). From prior experiences, I knew I needed a suitcase that would last, which is why I switched to my trusty Away. However, my colleague — and AT’s executive commerce director — Mark owns Quince’s Hard Shell Carry-On, and Deputy Commerce Editor Alicia owns its Expandable Hard Shell Suitcase, and I have to say, for the price, their suitcases look pretty darn nice.

“It’s turned out to be a sturdy, reliable travel companion that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable carry-on that looks expensive,” Mark says. “It holds a lot of items and packs quite a punch!” Alicia added, “It was so easy to wheel around the airport that I felt like I was barely using any extra strength to push it.” If you like the look of Quince’s luggage and need more reasons to pick a suitcase up for yourself, the brand just released two additional colorways for fall: Olive and Wine, and gosh, are they hard to ignore!
