Pet accessories are often overlooked when it comes to style. As long as a bed seems comfy and cozy, most dog parents will sacrifice looks for their pet’s comfort. But Reese Witherspoon proved that you can have both when she shared a photo of her black lab’s bed.

Captioned, “Cuddle puddle,” Witherspoon’s post shows both her and pup snuggling up in a tan plaid donut-shaped dog bed. It’s cute, it’s understated, and it goes perfectly with Witherspoon’s country-chic interior design aesthetic.

At one point in time, Witherspoon’s brand Draper James was selling their own pet beds, which of course came in a variety of ginghams and checks. But all have since sold out.

Even so, it looks like the dog bed in Witherspoon’s post may be the customizable bed from Jax & Bones. Stuffed with filling made from recycled bottles and covered in a durable cotton cover, the Jax & Bones bed (sold through Mark & Graham) can be monogrammed with your pup’s name on the front.

If you’re not looking to drop over $200 on a pet bed, though, there are some other fun and stylish alternatives out there from other brands. And though your pup may not know it, his area of the home may become a centerpiece rather than just something you gloss over.

Take, for example, the Harry Barker Buffalo check dog bed from Chewy. It comes in tan, red, and black and is basically just a massive faux-down pillow. And this bed is made from natural fabrics, dyes, and post-consumer recycled plastic.

Zara sells a check pet bed, too, in two different sizes. This bed with raised sides is currently 60% off its original price and comes with a removable inner pad for easy cleaning.

So, yes, you can always go with whatever bed is sold at the local pet supply store and not care much about what it looks like. But you can also work your dog’s bed into your overall design, and make your space just that much more appealing.
