Like so many this year, Reese Witherspoon had a small Thanksgiving at home with her immediate family—kids Ava and Deacon Phillippe, son Tennessee Toth, and husband Jim Toth. The family took a group photo with their perfectly set Thanksgiving table and Witherspoon’s wicker dining room chairs almost stole the show.

“Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours,” Witherspoon captioned her Thanksgiving Day post. “Feeling very grateful for all the frontline workers, medical workers and people who are caring for others today. And I’m deeply grateful for ALL of you! Sending my LOVE.”

Wicker is usually used for outdoor seating as its woven material (usually rattan, willow, bamboo, or some synthetic versions) can withstand the elements. But, as Witherspoon shows us, it adds a homey touch to interior decor as well.

The popularity of rattan has been on the rise since the pandemic, but Witherspoon’s deviation from the natural color of the wicker (or a more traditional white) gives the dining room seating a more unique touch. Her choice of matte, soft navy color contrasts with the orange hue of the dining room table perfectly, making the entire setup warm, inviting, and very country-cottage chic.

Oftentimes you can find second-hand wicker chairs at antique stores or through online marketplaces at a great price. With a quick paint refresh, you can snag Witherspoon’s style on a budget. But, if you’re looking to skip the DIY and grab a matching set, here are a few great options:

Adding a bit more texture to your dining room with wicker can shake things up and add an unexpected twist to a traditional setup.
