Uber rides in December — they’re not just for people running late for holiday parties! Over the years, the company has stretched the limits of what a ride-sharing app can do, from food delivery to wedding transportation. Fittingly, Uber’s latest venture is all about getting in the holiday spirit. Allow me to introduce you to Uber Sleigh, the world’s very first on-demand reindeer sleigh ride.

The sleigh rides run from December 12 to December 18, and they’re totally free. But as usual, there’s a catch — the reindeer rides depart exclusively from Apukka Resort in Lapland, Finland at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day, so you’ll have to journey towards the Arctic Circle.

However, those who do book rides through Uber Sleigh will be treated to a two-hour journey through the forests of Lapland all the way to Rovaniemi, which just so happens to be Santa Claus’ official hometown. Along the way, guests will be treated to a snack of traditional hot berry juice and sweets around a blazing log fire. A bit of a step up from driving around and looking at Christmas lights in your car!

“At Uber, we’re always looking at ways to bring a little magic to every trip, and with just the tap of a button you could be on a once-in-a-lifetime tour of one of the most beautiful places on earth,” Uber Vice President and General Manger of EMEA Mobility Anabel Diaz said in a statement. “We’re delighted to bring Christmas dreams to life with the launch of Uber Sleigh in Lapland.”

Interested visitors can book reindeer rides through the Uber app an hour in advance. Bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. In the meantime, you can check out Apukka Resort’s official website and learn more about the surrounding area here.
