As a hot sleeper who lives in the south, one thing I learned really quickly was that finding cooling bedding can be really hard. Sheets that claim to be “breathable” and “cooling” don’t always live up to their hype, which results in disappointment and shelling out more money for better options. That’s not to say that I haven’t found high-quality bedding that’s held up over time, but it’s good to build up a rotation of sheets and comforters if for nothing else than to avoid having a bare bed on laundry day. I’ve tried tons of sheets over the years and have found a few surprising champions in the bunch. However, I don’t think any have surprised me as much as the Evercool+ Cooling Sheet Set from bedding brand Rest. I was simply searching for bedding that would keep me cozy and cool all night — and these sheets gave me that and so much more.

What I first noticed about Rest’s Evercool+ Cooling Sheets was that they didn’t feel like any other sheets in my linen closet. The set comes with a fitted sheet and two pillowcases; all of which are silky smooth and immediately cool to the touch, which was a good sign for what they’d be like once I put them on my bed. Made from a blend of nylon and spandex, the sheets feature IONIC+ technology that helps to keep the sheets fresher for longer. They’re also antimicrobial, moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating, which means the sheets stay dry and keep me comfortable all night long. Additionally, while my dogs aren’t allowed on my bed, their fur inevitably gets tracked into my bedroom. Fortunately, the Evercool sheets are pet hair-resistant and remain fur-free. Along with the other aforementioned pluses, I didn’t have to wrestle with the Evercool fitted sheet to get it on my bed. The long and short sides are clearly marked with tags, and there are even handy corner straps that reinforce the sheet’s grip on your mattress so it doesn’t slip or come undone with any tossing and turning.

As someone who’s constantly shifting between my stomach and side throughout the night, it was nice not having to readjust the fitted Evercool sheet to keep it snug around my mattress. In fact, the only “issue” I noticed was that because these sheets are SO buttery smooth, the flat sheet — available separately from the set — is prone to sliding against other silky bedding (such as a bamboo comforter). I had to straighten it out a few times, but not so much that it was a dealbreaker. If you happen to grab the flat sheet along with your sheet set, it could be a good idea to use a comforter with a little bit of friction, a duvet cover, or a light blanket between the sheets. I usually don’t sleep with a top sheet because I tend to overheat, but even with the Evercool flat sheet, I wasn’t pushing the bed covers away for being too hot. I always thought that I’d have to settle for bedding that made me feel comfortable enough, but the Evercool Cooling Sheets from Rest are the real deal. Rather than settling, I found exactly what I was looking for.
