His name may be Lowe, but the price sure isn’t. Rob Lowe, former Brat Pack-er turned alum of shows like “The West Wing” and “Parks and Recreation,” just re-listed his sprawling Montecito property known as Oakview Estate with a significant price drop, according to Realtor.com.

But before you pull out your checkbook, it’s safe to say the current price tag will still make you gasp. The home is now on the market for $42.5 million—down from $47 million last year.

Tucked between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains, there’s good reason why Santa Barbara is often referred to as “America’s Riviera.” Oakview Estate is located in Montecito, the idyllic village that everyone from Jeff Bridges to Natalie Portman has called home. Set on over 3.4 meticulously-landscaped acres, the Georgian-style mansion features a 10,000-square-foot main house featuring six bedrooms and 11 baths.

Oakview Estate features vaulted ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, and custom detailing, visible everywhere from the handmade crown moldings and architectural millwork to the view-framing bay windows. A chef-caliber kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a large marble center island with four bar seats, while a formal dining room has a large fireplace and doors that open directly outside. Additional luxe amenities include a gym, library, wine room that holds up to 1,800 bottles, catering kitchen, and a state-of-the-art professional theater.

However, it’s the outdoor space at Oakview Estate that has us gunning for this property. Step through one of the many sets of French doors onto the spacious veranda, where you can cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace. An outdoor living room provides the perfect spot to entertain guests, or just cozy up for a movie. The flat, sprawling lawn sits next to lush gardens, complemented by the stunning ocean and mountain views of the rolling foothills, ocean, and Channel Islands. A lavender-lined garden path leads to the expansive swimming pool and tennis court. There’s also an 800-square-foot guest house, equipped with two bedrooms of its own, as well as a one-bedroom pool house.
