Serena Williams Aces House Hunt With $6.7M Beverly Hills Mansion
Tennis legend and new mom Serena Williams may have only recently listed her Bel Air bachelorette pad for sale (Williams is engaged to Reddit and Hipmunk founder Alex Ohanian), but she’s wasting no time on her house hunt. That’s right, in a move seemingly faster than one of her blistering serves on the court, Williams has already scored her new home.
The Grand Slam winner and Olympic champion picked up a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom, 6,000 square foot home in a gated community in Beverly Hills, which should provide ample space for Williams and her growing family. Williams served up $6.7 million for her new digs.
The recently-built, Spanish style home features walls of french doors in the bedroom, living room, and family room—all of which flood the home with tons of natural light. The chef’s kitchen features a gorgeous black marble island that may just bigger than most people’s dining room table. Extending throughout the home are brushed-oak hardwood floors in a light-colored finish—one of today’s hottest design trends, and a favorite of Trading Spaces’ Sabrina Soto.
At three stories tall, the house also boasts panoramic views of Los Angeles. The views can be particularly taken advantage of from the master bedroom, which touts a spacious attached balcony. Downstairs there is a den—complete with wet bar—perfect for Netflix and chilling, as well as an adjacent wine cellar.
Outside, a seren[a] veranda spills onto the property’s quarter acre lot and out to a spacious pool. And of course no home in Los Angeles would be complete without a yoga and massage room.
One glaring absence from the home’s list of features, however, is a tennis court. Guess mom will have to teach baby Alexis how to be a tennis champ elsewhere. Perhaps one of star’s other properties, like her two homes in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
